Testimonials

(Poem By a family member whose husband was undergoing treatment, young family )

I was feeling lost and alone

I was drowning in emotions not my own,

My life was turned Upside down,

My smile, replaced by a frown,

In Sláinte an Chláir, I found a light,

A kind word, support and reprieve from the fright,

A happy place, filled with love,

The answer, I feel,

Sent from above.

No longer do I need to roam,

Meditation online in my own home,

In life you meet people who will always be there,

Sláinte an Chláir is filled with those people

And this is truly rare

Sophie  (Wife)

‘ For me, discovering Sláinte an Chláir, has been like finding a new home, one that is equipped with all that is needed to support, nourish, and strengthen, those of us who found ourselves catupulated into the world of cancer….’ (Vinnie )

Clare Cancer Centre

‘ After being diagnosed with cancer for the second time at the age of 26years, I decided I would do everything I could to try and heal. When your world explodes in your face, it can be hard to know where to start picking up the pieces! I took a leap of faith and walked in the doors of Sláinte an Chláir and it was one of the best things I did. Sláinte anchored me from the beginning and gave me directions where I couldn’t see. I know it was crucial in grounding me on my path of healing……………What was so striking to me was the heart and the homeliness of the place; after coming from so many hospital appointments which usually feel like a warzone, and then conversely, the pleasure of arriving at a safe haven like Sláinte an Chláir during such a traumatic time, provides a hugh lifeline and massive relief……………. We are so, so lucky to have something this valuable in our county, especially at this time, where so many are being diagnosed every day.

IRELAND CHALLENGES CANCER

IRELAND CHALLENGES CANCER

‘There is such a taboo attached to bowel cancer, as if we shouldn’t be talking about it.’ – Bernadette

Ireland Challenges Cancer is a new idea we at Sláinte an Chláir have come up with to help raise funds for our centre and our outreach centre in

Raheen, Tuamgraney.

We have designed and created beautiful lapel pins to represent

nearly every county in Ireland and also a lovely one to commemorate 1916.

They are great value and nice memento for yourself or as a gift for somebody.
